Programs
Lower Division (3 courses)
- Ethnic Studies 11AC
- Completion of two additional elective courses from: Chicanx Latinx Studies 20, 40, 50, 70
Upper Division (9 courses)
- Ethnic Studies 101A or Ethnic Studies 101B
- Chicanx Latinx Studies 190 or Ethnic Studies 190
- One course from: Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies, Ethnic Studies or Native American Studies
- Completion of five elective courses from Chicanx Latinx Studies 110, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135A, 135B, 135C, 141, 142, 143, C144L, 148, 149, 150A, 150B, 152, 159, 161, 163, 165, 172, 174, 175, 176, 179, 180, 180AC, or an approved EAP course or related course from another department

Honors Program
The Chicanx Latinx Studies program provides an option leading to the B.A. degree with honors. Students must have senior standing; a 3.5 University GPA; and a 3.5 GPA in the major. The honors thesis consists of a 6-unit research project (Chicanx Latinx Studies H195A & H195B). The faculty will establish criteria and grade the project. Minor Requirements
– All courses taken for the Chicanx Latinx Studies Minor must be taken for a letter grade
– An overall GPA of 2.0 is required for all courses applied to the minor program
– At least three of the courses must be completed at U.C. Berkeley
– Only one course can be used to overlap between major(s) and minor requirements
Upper Division (5 Courses)
Five courses from: Chicanx Latinx Studies 110, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135A, 135B, 135C, 141, 142, 143, C144L, 148, 149, 150A, 150B, 152, 159, 161, 163, 165, 172, 174, 175, 176, 179, 180, 180AC (Note: Students may also use one approved course from EAP or another department)
