The Department of Ethnic Studies UC Berkeley

We’re pleased to report that Peter Nelson (ESPM and Ethnic Studies) is the recipient of nearly $1 million from a California Climate Action Seed Grant. The grant supports Peter’s work with tribal entities to expand the use of prescribed and cultural fire and increase tribal leadership in fire stewardship programs.
