“Four Faculty in Campus Leadership Roles”

August 12, 2021

This summer, several of our amazingly talented faculty in Ethnic Studies have been appointed to leadership roles across the UC Berkeley campus.

– Prof. Carolyn Chen will be serving as co-director of the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion.
– Prof. Catherine Ceniza Choy will be serving as Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice in the Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS).

– Prof. Lok Siu will be serving as Chair of the Asian American Research Center.

– Prof. Khatharya Um will be serving as Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the Division of the Social Sciences.

The impact these wonderful colleagues have had locally, on the AAADS Program and on the Department of Ethnic Studies, has been nothing short of transformative, and we’re thrilled to see what they’ll accomplish across the campus in the years ahead!
