“Lisa Ng and David Maldonado Recognized as Outstanding GSIs”

Ethnic Studies undergraduate classrooms are vital, complex, and energizing sites of learning; those lucky enough to teach our students routinely bring commitment, creativity, and curiosity to the work.
This year, Lisa Ng and David Maldonado are the recipients of the Department’s 2024 Outstanding GSI Award. Lisa, a fifth year doctoral student in Ethnic Studies, has been a remarkable teacher in our reading and composition courses. David, a doctoral student in the Berkeley School of Education (and a graduate of our Chicanx Latinx Studies Program), has been a generous educational collaborator for Ethnic Studies 21AC and 22AC.
