Bio & Research Interests

I am interested in the production of imperial science and culture throughout early 20th century U.S.-Philippine relations. My project focuses on the ways in which visual technologies—particularly photography—faciliated the circulation of ethnological discourse in realms spanning from commercialized entertainment to the bourgeouis household to formal efforts to classify and enumerate colonized subjects. I am a recipient of the Cota-Robles Fellowship.
